Our team is led by Dr. Michael Bäcker (*1969) and Dr. Andreas Füßl (*1976).

Dr. Michael Bäcker studied Chemistry at Düsseldorf University and earned his PHD at the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research in Stuttgart, Germany. Afterwards he gained the degree certificated technical operations manager.

When he founded Deutsche Nanoschicht GmbH in November 2011 Michael Bäcker assumed the superconductor department from the Zenergy Power GmbH. Before Michael Bäcker started managing the superconductor department at Zenergy Power GmbH he worked with Hoechst AG, Alcatel SA and Nexans SA. In June 2013 Dr. Bäcker sold all shares to BASF New Business GmbH.

Dr. Bäcker is chairman of the European Superconductivity Consortium (CONECTUS, www.conectus.org) and board member of the industrial association for superconductivity (ivSupra, www.ivsupra.de). In addition he helds regular lectures at Bonn-Rhine-Sieg University of Applied Sciences.

Dr. Andreas Fuessl studied Chemistry at the TU Karlsruhe and the University of Heidelberg. He received his PhD from the University of Heidelberg (Prof. Roland Kraemer) in the field of bio-inorganic Chemistry. In 2007 he started in the Polymer Research of BASF SE. Afterwards he was active in several technical and financial positions within BASF SE. In June 2016 Dr. Andreas Fuessl joined BASF New Business GmbH where he is responsible for Marketing and Sales within the IBU E-Power Management.
